Foundation Update!

Dear Family, Friends and Kind Contributors:

As you may know, May is Mental Health Awareness month. As such, we are delighted to make a number of important announcements.

First, we have made our latest round of contributions to worthwhile causes. This included donations to:

Crisis Text Line - Crisis Text Line provides free, 24/7, high-quality text-based mental health support and crisis intervention by empowering a community of trained volunteers to support people in their moments of need. At the intersection of empathy and innovation — we promote mental well-being for people wherever they are.

NAMI NJ Chapter - NAMI New Jersey (NAMI NJ) is a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. Through education, support, advocacy and public awareness programs NAMI NJ fosters understanding about mental illness, confronts stigma often associated with mental disorders, advocates for public policies that benefit those affected by mental illness, and promotes research into the causes, treatment and recovery of mental health disorders. AFSP NJ Chapter - The New Jersey Chapter is fueled by the mission to save lives by providing education and support to the Garden State.

The grassroots work we do focuses on eliminating the loss of life from suicide by: delivering innovative prevention programs, educating the public about risk factors and warning signs, raising funds for suicide research and programs, and reaching out to those individuals who have lost someone to suicide. As a part of AFSP’s growing nationwide network of chapters, we bring together people from all backgrounds who want to prevent suicide in our communities. Families and friends who have lost someone to suicide, vulnerable individuals, mental health professionals, clergy, educators, students, community/business leaders, and many others energize our chapter.

Second, we continue to take action to raise money for the Foundation and increase mental health awareness. In addition to the frisbees, Seth created and is selling “Therapy is Sexy” t-sheets, sweatshirts and long-sleeve shirts. If interested, see the link below.
